| Donate Your Used Bikes | Don’t let that used bike just gather dust! You can help 10-15 year-old kids from fragile Charlotte neighborhoods learn life skills through biking by donating it for repair and resale. The Trips for Kids Charlotte organization is a United Way-supported, non-profit under IRS section 501©(3), therefore your donated bicycle is tax deductible. A receipt proving acceptance of your bike will be provided. Trips for Kids also provides the Earn-a-Bike program, a 6-week bike maintenance and riding safety course, as well as half-day mountain bike trips, which promote personal achievement and self-empowerment. The only criteria for bike acceptance are that it be: a good used, durable, rust-free bike (mountain or road, appropriate for ages 10 through adult) that would be sellable and/or rideable with little repair. Providence Plantation Neighbors Will Pick Up Your Bike: Bev Brandt and Stan Pendergraft, 6119 Bittersweet Lane, will come by and take it away.
